Buzz is a Quaker - a type of parrot.

Buzz came to us from a home for abandoned parrots, near Charlotte, NC.

These birds get very attached to people. If their person loses interest in them, they get neurotic and start to pull their own feathers out. Once they start, it becomes a compulsive and almost impossible to stop. And then their people tend to abandon them completely, and few people are willing to give them homes.
